Studland Bay House
Megan + Paul

Megan and Paul originally got in touch with me the end of last year to photograph their September 2017 wedding. In the new year, they needed to bring the date forward from September to April- as Megan was expecting a baby!
Their beautiful Spring wedding wedding was held in Studland, Dorset. A few miles down the road from the beach where Paul proposed to Megan. Both coming from London, they dreamed of a south coast wedding and the Studland Bay House was the perfect location for a breathtaking coastal view. Both Megan and Paul got ready there with the whole family, before heading to the very quaint St Nicholas church one mile up the road.

It was an emotional procession as Paul watched his glowing wife-to-be walk down the aisle, her bump looking extremely flattering in her Eliza Jane Howell dress. (Her veil was a vintage family heir loom that was actually in the Victoria & Albert museum!)
One of a more traditional hymns was exchanged for “When I’m sixty four” by the Beatles. Everyone stood up in the church singing and dancing – even the vicar who was a family-friend from London joined in-very loudly! You could feel the love and warmth in the room from everyone.
Afterwards, a wonderful confetti throw was held and the bride and groom hugged their well wishers hello and everyone headed back to the house.
A beautiful marquee attached the house, decorated in paper lanterns, colourful umbrellas, confetti balloons and wildflowers. The guest favours were a little bottle of port each, all the way from Portugal that a family-friend had produced themselves and brought over. The cake was also made by a close friend.
The groom’s brother was the master of ceremonies during the speeches and later that evening , sang in his very own band for the evenings live music.

Their first dance was the very sexy “Me and Mrs Jones” by Billy Paul (Jones being their new last name together) They swooned each other and invited everyone on to the dance floor. I’ve honestly never photographed (nor been) to a wedding before with so many guests dancing. There was such an incredible vibe and literally everyone joined in to boogie.
The amazing day came to an end with a fun sparkler exit. It was a lot of fun and challenging to get over two dozen sparklers lit with just one lighter!
